Job Summary:
As Director, you will lead and manage the daycare staff. The Director is responsible for providing guidance and support to the staff, children and parents, while cultivating an environment that is safe, secure and well-educated.
Education and Experience:

Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of 3 years experience
Must adhere to the required Maine licensing or Maine Roads To Qualities requirements
Primary Job Duties:

Creating Curriculum and Programs using the play-based learning method.
Maintain cleanliness of the facility to licensing rules and regulations.
Enroll new students into Brightwheel and track necessary paperwork.
Manage all staff in accordance with our staff handbook, job descriptions and licensing rules and regulations. Includes coaching staff in the moment and verbal and written warnings.
Maintain employees’ schedules and ensure we are in ratio at all times.
Ensure that we are in compliance with all licensing rules within the facility as well as following all procedures from the provider handbook.
Follow up with lead teachers about monthly craft schedules. Give help and guidance as needed. Crafts are age appropriate.
Assist in the process of hiring potential employees. Attending and playing an active role during interviews.
Train new employees and maintain employees records. This includes employees yearly training hours.
Schedule monthly fire drills and one evacuation drill per six months.
Maintain expenses and stay within a given budget. Active role in controlling costs and looking for ways to save money.
Knowledge:

English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and ratio.
Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Work Environment:
The work environment is in a fast-paced working environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel crouch and crawl, and talk/hear.
