Job duties include (but are not limited to):
• Greet customers when they arrive at the service and parts center and address automotive problems to determine what repair, service, or maintenance issues are affecting their vehicle.
• Learn from the customer about what their vehicle is experiencing, convey those needs to the Service Technicians, keep customer informed about their service progress, and explain what was done and when the next need for service should be expected.
• Conduct inspections; take test drives; check vehicle maintenance records; examine service schedules
• Consult with mechanics about necessary repairs and possible alternatives to expensive work
• Provide customers with in-depth information about available part options; advise customers about warranty protections and potential cost savings
• Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
• Help customers decide between trading in a car and fixing it through our shop
• Manage and oversee the service center’s workflow and scheduling
• Call customers to inform them of changes in service or to let them know their vehicle is ready for pick-up
Skills:
• Prior customer service experience is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate equally well with mechanics, customers and senior management
