Data Analyst and Counseling Administrator
Job Goals:
To provide leadership and coordination to facilitate an aligned and articulated instructional assessment, school counseling, accountability, and data analysis program for the district.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in education required.
2. Certification in administration/supervision required.
3. Three (3) years teaching experience required.
4. Valid Alabama certification required.
5. Administrative/supervisory experience preferred
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills in group settings.
2. Effective written and oral communication skills.
3. Ability to be effective and efficient with Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher and Access.
4. Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel as applicable.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via E-mail.
6. Ability to plan and implement training.
7. Knowledge of board policies and procedures.
8. Ability to use effective public relations skills necessary for the successful implementation of programs, the coordination of committees and collaborative groups and maintain productive relationships among colleagues as well as those supervised.
9. Knowledge of board policies and procedures as well as State Department of Education assessments policies and procedures for the administration of state driven assessments and state and federal regulatory requirements for accountability.
Essential Functions
1. Acquires, produces, and disseminates information related to the Student Assessment Program for school system personnel.
2. Plans, improves and oversees all Student Assessment Program activities for the school system.
3. Conducts training for the Building Test Coordinators, System Special Education Coordinator, System 504 Coordinator, System EL Coordinator, and Monitors on the Student Assessment Program.
4. Receives and accounts for all testing materials in the LEA
5. Maintains strict test security before, during, and after each testing session of the Student Assessment Program.
6. Collaborates to maintain data systems that analyze results.
7. Analyzes data and provides administrative staff recommendations for improvements.
8. Provides evaluative findings for the review of the Central Support Team to evaluate effectiveness.
9. Supports the district and schools with the implementation of state and federal accountability.
10. Assists and educates school administrators, teachers, and other system personnel in matters specifically related to the implementation of federal and state laws and regulations involving the Student Assessment Program.
11. Ensure implementation of the school counseling program at each school.
12. Assists with the selection, placement, supervision, evaluation, and staff development of personnel as required.
13. Adheres to federal, state, local, and board rules and regulations.
14. Takes leave time in accordance with Board policy and reports all absences in a timely manner.
15. Attends SDE workshops related to the Student Assessment Program.
16. Serves as the liaison between the LEA and the SDE.
17. Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties as needed.
Terms of Employment
The terms of employment shall be in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy Manual, Students First Act and the Board’s Salary Schedule - Administrator.
Evaluation
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
