We are currently seeking: Controller
The Controller is responsible for managing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, monitoring project costs, managing cash flow, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The Controller works closely with project managers and executives to ensure financial transparency and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general
ledger, payroll, and financial reporting. - Project Cost Management: Monitor and analyze project budgets, costs, and variances; ensure accurate
job costing and profitability tracking for construction projects. - Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections in
collaboration with senior management. - Compliance: Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations,
and industry-specific standards; coordinate with auditors for financial reviews. - Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements,
including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. - Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs
and project funding. - Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring efficient workflows and accuracy in
financial processes. - Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement internal controls to safeguard company
assets.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, progress billing, and
percentage-of-completion methods. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior financial leadership role.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
