We are currently seeking: Director of Service & Maintenance
The Director of Service & Maintenance will plan and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Service and
Maintenance Department, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively
and goal and objective are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the performance of activities of the Service and Maintenance Department.
- Set expectations for team and consistently review/monitor performance and provide feedback for improvements or corrections and motivate team to reach daily/weekly/monthly goals.
- Understand department financials and measure productivity of all department project and operations financial data by analyzing budget versus actual data. Provide monthly and annual
financial forecasts to company executive team. Responsible for department financial performance. - Coordinates with other departments such as LC, PS, ES, Huntsville, and Shop to ensure overall success of department and the company.
- Collaborate with company President, Sr. Vice President, and Vice President on setting Service and Maintenance Department goals and vision.
- Oversee Operations Manager, Project Managers, Preconstruction Managers and Estimators within the Service and Maintenance Department.
- Provide support to Estimating team when needed to ensure projects are estimated properly and sold.
- Enforce and communicate processes within the Service and Maintenance Department.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in Service and Maintenance processes and oversee new processes as required.
- Coordinate with CFO and Administration Department to ensure department supervisors within the Service and Maintenance Department are following processes and communication procedures of the Accounting/Administration departments.
- Help facilitate the balance and open communication within the Service and Maintenance Department regarding workload needs or capacity constraints between Pre-Construction and Operations.
- Review and recommend hiring needs, terminations, or personnel changes, including compensation within Service and Maintenance Department.
- Be a mentor and transfer knowledge to middle management as well as other employees within the Service and Maintenance Department and Company as applicable.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to be proactive (not just reactive) in finding and solving problems in subordinate
departments before they become larger problems. - Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
- Extensive knowledge of service industry operations.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set operational goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Extensive and diversified background with at least five years of related experience in the service
and maintenance industry. - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds at a time.
