What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courtroom Bailiff Part Time position at Tuscola County?
Position: Courtroom Bailiff for the Tuscola County Courts (Part-time Temporary Position/Hours Vary/No Benefits)
General Description: Under the supervision of the presiding judge and the deputy court administrator, bailiffs provide order and security in the courtrooms, as well as the surrounding areas inside the courthouse. Bailiffs assist the court administrator with security issues and concerns, as well as other duties as assigned. Bailiffs must complete firearms training, defensive tactics training, and CPR/AED/First Aid training.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent with two years of postgraduate education preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years of experience in law enforcement, the security field, or equivalent experience preferred. Individual must have a valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or have the necessary background to obtain one.
