Tusk Molding is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong understanding of leading a production team in the manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for roto-molding equipment and facilities including but not limited to production equipment, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, welding, heating and cooling, and other building systems. Additionally, this role will establish and enhance preventative maintenance program that optimize cost and minimize downtime.
Duties and responsibilities
Tusk Molding is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong understanding of leading a production team in the manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for roto-molding equipment and facilities including but not limited to production equipment, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, welding, heating and cooling, and other building systems. Additionally, this role will establish and enhance preventative maintenance program that optimize cost and minimize downtime.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prioritize daily maintenance tasks and ensure completion within timelines.
- Perform and track scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment, including inspection and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as but not limited to, welding, repairing drywall, doors, other building fixtures, painting, etc.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues and confirm with leadership before initiating potential repairs.
- Responsible for use of tools and equipment and ensures proper maintenance and repair procedures are followed.
- Communicate with zone supervisors & leadership on maintenance, repairs, projects, and parts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and safe working practices.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Document all maintenance tasks and reports following facility protocols.
- Assist with inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies, ensuring critical components are always available for repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Track and manage the use of spare parts to optimize cost and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all work orders and service requests are tracked, completed, and closed out in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives related to equipment maintenance.
- Work with production teams to optimize machinery performance and minimize production interruptions.
- Participate in root cause analysis for recurring maintenance issues and develop corrective action plans.
- When not working on maintenance projects or volume of maintenance projects are low, assist with production as assigned.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
- Always represent the company in a courteous, professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of roto-molding equipment, including ovens, molds, cooling systems, and conveyors is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred.
