The Diagnostic Technologist I (x-ray technologist) performs diagnostics in accordance with professional established policies, procedures and protocols.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintains strict confidentiality concerning all internal and external organizational matters;
Takes Radiographs as requested by Provider to obtain information for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients;
Utilizes radiology equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and proper maintenance procedures;
Receives written requisitions and electronic orders from Provider for diagnostics tests to be performed;
Prepares patient for radiographic examination and determines suitable anatomic position before taking diagnostics;
Ensures that developed diagnostics is acceptable technical quality;
Records diagnostics developed and sends the radiograph to the Radiologist for interpretation;
Receives radiology reports from contracting Radiologist and distributes results to original requesting Physician / Provider;
Performs Pulmonary Function / Spirometry testing;
Performs EKG and other procedures as services are added to the department.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and corporate information.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program with a degree in Radiology Technology with a current license to practice as a registered Radiology Technologist in the State of Alabama.
Minimum of one year work experience in a healthcare setting as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
Must be ARRT registered and CPR certified.
Must have basic computer skills.
