Assistant / Associate / Full Professor Small Animal Internal Medicine
Job Summary
The candidate must have expertise in a Small Animal Internal Medicine and work within a team of faculty members whose expertise, teaching, and research overlap and reflect the core areas of public health under the concept of One Health. Overall, the candidate provides classroom and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, interns, and summer enrichment programs in the College of Veterinary Medicine and prepare veterinary students to become professional practitioners in their chosen field of practice; engages in creative and collaborative scholarship, research, and service activities in the College and across the University as One Tuskegee; and participates in the recruitment / advising / mentoring / nurturing of students.
Essential Job Duties
- Required to participate in the tripartite mission of teaching, research and service; and participation on College and University committees is expected.
- Participate in effective classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction and supervision for veterinary students, graduate students, and interns
- Develop innovative teaching and service programs to enhance the Department and the College Advise students, interns, and graduate students
- Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), with emphasis on, but not limited to Small Animal Internal Medicine. Limited participation in Emergency / After-hour interns and expected to support Community Practice Section.
- Participate in community outreach service activities
- Demonstrate creative scholarship
- Engage in collaborative research activities in the College, the University and / or with collaborating colleges and universities
- Serve on College and University committees
- Expected to attend Department, College, and University meetings.
- Pursue professional activities, CE and expertise as well as providing continued support to the College of Veterinary Medicine.
- Perform other duties as assigned
