Job Summary
This position resides in the Office of Academic Affairs, and is responsible for managing faculty affairs and development issues to support quality of instruction, career progression, and employment as defined in the faculty handbook and other policies of the institution. The position reports to the Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs
Essential Job Duties
- Manage the faculty tenure and promotion process and adhere to the requirements as defined in the faculty handbook and HR procedures
- Familiar with all faculty responsibilities such as instruction, LMS, and other platforms of the university
- Implement and manage the faculty performance and evaluation process via online documentation
- Manage faculty appointments throughout academic year and ensure compliance with budget requirements and university policies
- Plan and host faculty recognition events and activities to promote faculty development and workplace satisfaction
- Manage all faculty grievances and complaints amongst employees and students
- Coordinate and manage all grants and contracts needed for approval by Academic Affairs
- Assist and manage immigration requirements for faculty employment and work with the Office of Human Resources
- Manage and coordinate the projects affiliated with the Board of Trustees such as meetings and reports
- Host and manage the New Faculty Orientation every semester
- Coordinate development activities to improve the quality of instruction for all faculty
- Work with Title Ill Director and assist with the implementation of projects and activities
- Maintain credentials, directory, and documentation all faculty of the institution
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Ph.D.
- Full Professor status in any discipline
- Served as a department head and managed research projects·
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to prepare and analyzing data and figures
- Ability to view a computer terminal; extensive reading
Skills and Attributes
Knowledge of:
- Policies and procedures for faculty, staff, and students
- Modern office practices and administrative procedures
Skills:
- Mastery of common computer and software programs, and all university platforms within the academic office
- Excellent communication skills
Ability to:
Work with faculty and students with regard to customer service
