Job Summary
The Finance Coordinator plays a crucial role in accurately entering and maintaining financial data related to the institution’s budgets and scholarships. This position supports the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine’ s Budget Office by ensuring data integrity and the timely processing of budgetary information and scholarships.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of budget reports, spreadsheets, and analyses as required by the budget office.
- Assist in scholarship file management, follow-up on inquiries, prepare financial reports, and track budgets.
- Respond to inquiries from staff and faculty regarding requisitions and other purchasing documents status.
- Maintain an organized filing system for budget-related documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist in processing and following up on requisitions, budget transfer requests, purchase orders, and other financial transactions as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and budgetary information.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to budgeting processes and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor’s degree with one-year experience or associate degree
- Two years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to view a computer terminal
Skills and Attributes
Knowledge:
- Experience with financial management systems or databases is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in data entry and computer skills, including expertise in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
