Job Summary
This position seeks a highly-qualified candidate. The Agent will oversee all of the duties of providing direct assistance to county clientele in all of the counties within the service region of TUCEP designated for programming in Youth Development related to this area. Additionally, this position will assist other agents/resource specialists/interns in planning, implementing, and reporting their activities for TUCEP. This position is essential to the alignment of all programs delivered in all 20-plus counties served are aligned with accepted USDA outputs and outcomes, as well as other USDA-designated regulations. This position reports directly to the District Agent. Also, this position will be held at the Macon County Extension office and will be responsible for Macon, Barbour, Bullock, Montgomery, and Lowndes counties.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop and prepare plans of work based on Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program Plan of Work in Youth Development and 4H.
- Assisting in planning, monitoring, and evaluation of Extension and related programs in Youth Development and 4 1.
- Prepare timely staff reports as required.
- Evaluate educational activities and program results as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain a local Extension Advisory Council.
- Participate in appropriate professional organizations.
- Participate in in-service training, formal coursework, and short courses.
- Publicize ongoing educational and public relations programs to inform organizations, agencies, and the public of programs and activities.
- Provide leadership directly to clientele by contacts, other agents, faculty, and agencies.
- Work closely with Agriculture and Natural Resource and Family, Home, and Consumer Science Agents to build comprehensive programming in assigned counties.
- Meet the community needs relate to diverse audiences.
- Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with CAENS faculty and staff members based on critical issues conducts promotional efforts to expand public knowledge of extension programs.
- Utilizes current TIJ’s research data and information on emerging issues in community development and teaching and Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in the community by participating in and supporting civic/ community activities organizations and networking with community leaders.
- Serve on Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program Committee for ExERT, BTW Summit, TAPS, and Farmers Conference. Other duties as assigned by the Extension Administrator, Assistant Administrators, and/or the District Agent
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, or a closely related field is required.
- Master of Science degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, or a closely related field is preferred.
