What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lodge Manager position at Tussey Mountain?
SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Lodge, including
managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, handling reservations, maintaining cleanliness
standards, and generally ensuring the smooth functioning of the establishment, with a
primary focus on providing an exceptional guest experience. Communicate regularly with
immediate supervisor and other company departments/personnel to plan, coordinate, and
evaluate activities, events, exchange information, and resolve problems. As a customer
focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.
As a prerequisite to employment, a background check and credit report will be performed.
STAFF MANAGEMENT
Hiring, training, and supervising all lodge staff members.
Scheduling staff to meet operational needs.
Performance evaluations and staff development.
Addressing staff concerns and resolving internal issues
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Handling guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
Ensuring guest satisfaction through personalized service
Monitoring guest feedback and implementing improvements
OPERATIONS
Maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards
MARKETING AND SALES
Collaborating with marketing team to promote the lodge
Managing online booking platforms
Required Skills:

Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly
Communication skills: Clear and concise communication with guests and staff
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or
related course of study, 3 to 5 years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Food Manager certification and RAMP certification is preferred
but not required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage ~10 subordinate employees. Responsible for the supervision, coordination, and
booking for Lodge, patio and pavilion events. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing and training employees; planning and coordinating events with clients,
assigning and directing work for staff.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
