Responsibilities and Duties
- Make clients and their pet feel comfortable and welcome.
- Fill medications and administer vaccinations.
- Perform TPR and take medical history from clients.
- Assist Veterinarians during examinations.
- Able to gently handle, lift and restrain dog and cat of all sizes.
- Provide information and education about services offered.
- Be able to sit, stand, walk, lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Triage routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
- Complete a full diagnostic work-up, including lab work, X-rays, and other in-house diagnostics.
- Assist in general practice surgeries including pre and post-surgical care.
- Able to draw blood and place IV catheters.
- Dental scaling, polishing, and x-ray skills are a plus.
- Experience with gentle or fear-free handling techniques is a plus.
- Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit is preferred or must be eligible to apply while working at TVAH.
Qualifications and Skills

- Experience in the veterinary field is required.
- Willing to work on Saturdays.
