Tutor

This is for in-person tutoring in Nogales, small group (2 or 3 students) or individual tutoring. We are not hiring online tutors. Please apply if you are local to Nogales or Sahuarita. Must have earned bachelors degree (or higher) in any subject, preference for those with educational experience or degree; must have an IVP fingerprint card or pass a Level 1 background check (I will facilitate if you currently do not hold IVP).

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to K-12 students in math, writing, and reading
- Assess students' learning needs and create personalized lesson plans
- Communicate with parents or guardians to provide progress updates and discuss any concerns
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance tutoring sessions
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other educators to support student learning

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong lesson planning abilities to create engaging and effective tutoring sessions
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Familiarity with learning technology and resources for educational purposes
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners
- Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
- Time management skills to ensure a productive learning environment
- Experience working with students of various ages and academic levels

Expected hours: 3 – 8 per week
