Job Description
Tutulu LLC is currently seeking a Senior Military Planner to join our team. The primary duties of the Senior Military Planner will be to direct the preparation and development of master planning documents in compliance with Federal and DoD policies. The Senior Military Planner will oversee the work of others in the completion of required planning studies, to include Area Development Plans, Area Development Execution Plans, Vision Plans, Capacity/Facility Utilization Studies, Facility Condition Assessment, Strategic Reutilization Plans, Requirements Analysis, and Installation Planning Standards. Must be familiar with leading Planning Charrettes, facilitating Public Outreach, developing DD Form 1391 (Pax System), and cost estimation. Requires ability to facilitate and lead on-site stakeholder and agency interviews and charrette workshops.
Candidates need to be effective verbal and nonverbal communicators. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) is required. Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less than well-defined planning problems are also required. The strongest candidates should have management experience, direction of teams of planners and engineers, be able to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and effectively manage their time and personnel to meet firm deadlines. Must have current passport (some travel required) and ability to travel overseas, as needed. Security clearance is favorable, but not required. AICP or PE registration (or ability to obtain) is required.
Work locations for this position include Centennial, Colorado, Huntsville, Alabama or remote home office.
Candidate should have:
- Knowledge of planning disciplines, such as military planning, urban design, environmental planning, economic development or land use
- Knowledge of military planning documents, such as Area Development Plans, Area Development Execution Plans, Regulating Plans, Requirements Analyses, Utilization Studies, Traffic Pattern Analysis Charrettes, Utilities Master Plans, and Facility Space Optimization Plans
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs indigenous to the practice of military planning, such as ASIP, RPLANS, ISR, HQIIS, Pax System, etc.
- Solid understanding of GIS, CADD, Acrobat, and Adobe Illustrator
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined planning problems
- Experience directing planning teams in the completion of required studies / reports
