Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Specialist with 3-5 years in the PR field to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at conducting in-depth client research, securing local media coverage, creating engaging press content, and establishing partnerships that enhance brand visibility. This role requires a strategic communicator who can develop and execute comprehensive PR campaigns, manage media outreach, and coordinate cross-functional PR efforts. Key Responsibilities Research & Client Strategy Development Conduct in-depth research on each client to develop customized PR strategies, calendars, and targeted campaigns. Identify relevant awards, partnerships, sponsorships, events, etc. that align with client objectives and enhance their visibility. Press Release Development Write and distribute press releases that highlight client achievements, certifications, or noteworthy developments, ensuring content is aligned with their brand. Media Outreach Research and craft targeted pitches for local media, news outlets, blogs, podcasts, conferences, and other relevant platforms. Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, hosts, and influencers to secure meaningful media placements. Client Communications Frequently interact face-to-face with clients, maintaining effective and consistent communication to ensure alignment on PR objectives and strategies. Media Preparation Provide media training and preparation for clients, including talking points, interview questions, media kits, and interview prep materials to support clear, effective messaging. Cross-Functional Collaboration with Social Media Coordinate closely with social media teams to align PR activities with overall marketing strategies, supporting consistent messaging across channels and managing community content for enhanced reach. Qualifications A bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. 3-5 years of public relations experience, with expertise in media relations, community outreach, and partnership building. Strong understanding of the local media landscape and established media connections. Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience creating press releases, pitches, and media preparation materials. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive research to support PR initiatives. Ability to create and present media reports for clients to show campaign effectiveness. Demonstrated experience coordinating PR strategies with social media efforts. Strategic, proactive mindset with a talent for identifying new PR opportunities and nurturing relationships.
