What are the responsibilities and job description for the UCB Deputy Manager position at TUV SUD America?
Position Summary:
Deputize for the Certification Body Manager and assist with the supervision of the operations of the certification body in North America.
Responsibilities:
Deputize for the Certification Body Manager;
Supervise the operations of the Inspection Body and maintain the accreditations;
Ensuring that TUV SUD Americas complies with all current accreditation and regulatory requirements. Maintain existing certification procedures;
Supporting the OSHA NRTL Program for both NAFTA and international labs;
Obtaining new accreditations as needed to support business needs including preparing application packages for submission to OSHA and the SCC;
Administering related personnel authorizations;
Supporting accreditation body audits at TUV SUD locations worldwide;
Supporting internal quality functions as needed, (e.g. internal audits);
Representing TUV SUD on committees and other forums;
Conduct training remotely and on-site;
Deputize for the CBW administrator (releasing certificates)
Both domestic, and international, travel will be required. Up to 30% travel. A valid driving license, passport and ability to obtain visa in other countries (e.g. China) is required;
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience;
10 years' experience testing electrical products to UL and CSA standards
5 years' experience working within a NRTL at the certification decision level
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Expertise with the testing of electrical products to international standards
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services
Energy Efficiency certification programs (preferred);
Cybersecurity certification programs (preferred);
IECEE CB Scheme (preferred);
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17020, General criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection (preferred);
Internal Quality System Auditing (preferred);
Familiarity with the OSHA NRTL Electrical Safety Product Certification Program
Familiarity with Electrical Safety Standards. (e.g., UL 62368-1, AAMI 60601, etc.)
Familiarity with the operations of a Product Certification Body
Excellent written and oral communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
