Description
TuWay Communications is looking for an enthusiastic individual for a position in our
Engineering department at our corporate headquarters located in Bethlehem, PA. This entry- level position will allow the successfully candidate to work closely with the Engineering Team to install, deploy and support communication and IT solutions to our vast customer base. TuWay
Communications prides itself in providing cutting edge IP based technologies to allow our public safety, education, healthcare and enterprise customers to work faster, work smarter and work safer.
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
- Perform basic installs of mobile RF equipment in most basic customer vehicles
- Understand the installation / mounting of most styles and types of antenna used in this industry
- Own a basic supply of hand tools relative to the requirements of this position and be proficient in their use
- Understand basic electrical / electronic fundamentals and practices for safe and effective installations and operation.
- Understanding of the use of basic testing instruments (i.e. ohmmeter, volt meter, ammeter, wattmeter and frequency measuring devices)
- Understand the fundamentals of estimating, running and dressing various types of cables (RF, video and telephony)
- Install coax connectors, telephone / network connectors, weatherproofing and concrete mountings
- Responsible for the timely entry of all labor hours, service work performed and critical job comments in back-end office system
An ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- 1 – 3 or more years of related experience or a demonstrated ability to successfully learn the skills required for the position within 1-year of employment
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques and to be mentored by senior level staff
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Basic knowledge of product line offerings for TuWay Communications
- Must possess the ability to work in team or individual setting
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory motor vehicle operator record
- Must be able to climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces when necessary
- Safe ladder practices are a definitive requirement
- Must be a self-driven individual with the ability to handle entry-level tasks with decreasing supervision as time progresses
- The ability to identify situations that require escalation and the confidence to ask for help when needed
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as to stand for extended periods of time, as needed
- All candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check through state and federal criminal justice information systems as well as state child abuse backgrounds checks due to the sensitive nature of the work required for this position

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
