What are the responsibilities and job description for the NSOC Technician (Help Desk) position at TuWay Communications?
TuWay Communications is in search of a highly motivated, resourceful individual to join our growing team and supplement our network engineering and support staff in the northeastern PA region. The candidate will be primarily responsible for the monitoring and support of mission-critical IT systems from our Network & Security Operations Center (NSOC) in Bethlehem, PA. TuWay Communications is a value-added systems distributor and integrator of wireless, voice, and data communications networks. We serve both enterprise and public safety as their trusted provider of solutions for mission critical communications.
This position is currently for our night-shift (7PM to 7AM) operations team.
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
1. Providing first-response to alarms generated within our network monitoring systems as well as reported issues.
2. Coordinating complex support and remediation efforts during security incidents.
3. The scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance on customer systems and equipment.
4. Performing the inventory, assessment and detailed documentation of customer systems.
5. The deployment, configuration and management of network monitoring systems in complex and diverse customer environments.
6. Engaging directly with customers to provide troubleshooting assistance as well as the communication of system and issue status.
An ideal candidate will possess the following:
1. Outstanding customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
2. Adept self-learner, regularly expanding knowledge and understanding of in-place and emerging technologies.
3. The ability to resourcefully troubleshoot and mitigate complex issues in diverse customer environments.
4. Working knowledge of computer hardware and software technologies, including workstations and servers running Linux & Microsoft operating systems XP thru 11, and Server 2003 thru 2019.
5. A general understanding of the TCP/IP model and network design components, including DHCP, DNS, subnets, and routing.
6. An understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 a plus.
7. Knowledge and experience with VoIP telephony installations is a plus.
8. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
9. A valid driver's license, current insurance, and reliable transportation is required.
