The PM Camera Operator is responsible for operating television cameras to record scenes for live and recorded broadcasts. Responsibilities include :
- Composing and framing shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.
- Adjusting positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure, and lighting as requested by the director.
- Operating studio cameras during live broadcasts.
- Operating remote cameras during live broadcasts.
- Conferring with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements, and lighting requirements.
- Setting up and performing shots for broadcasts.
- Setting up cameras and related equipment.
- Testing, cleaning, maintaining, and repairing camera equipment.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
