Manufacturing Production Planner
Full-time | Reports to General Manager - Manufacturing | Location - Olathe, KS, 66062
The Production Planner will support AMO production by utilizing the Epicor ERP software to perform essential functions including; scheduling, releasing of work / jobs to manufacturing resources. Taking into consideration customer priority, product requirements, capacity constraints, and available component inventory levels. The Planner will serve as liaison between the various departments and the production floor to launch products and to resolve manufacturing issues. The Planner will support defining & documenting AMO related processes & manufacturing procedures so that production employees have the information and tools necessary to produce parts efficiently.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizing Epicor ERP software platform to manage the assembly jobs / assignments schedule in accordance with assembler capabilities, ensuring optimal flow and effective production.
- Reviews jobs for accuracy and ensures components requirements are available prior to releasing them to manufacturing.
- Releasing job assignments to AMO resources in accordance with the production schedule ensuring the manufacturing workload will meet the customer's demand in a timely fashion.
- Respond & plan accordingly to various demand of external & internal customers
- Performs daily / weekly capacity analysis of each assembler to balance the workload.
- Ensures the appropriate amount of work has been issued to AMO resources to keep employees contributing with value added work.
- Tracks adherence to the schedule to ensure that the scheduled workflow is not interrupted.
- Responsible for the integrity of ERP part master data and updates part master data with missing information as needed.
- Confirms part settings are correct to ensure that MRP and Scheduling engine are performing as desired.
- Determines manufacturing lot sizes to reduce production costs.
- Updates Bill of Operations and Bill of Materials as business requires.
- Monitors dashboards in the system to make certain customer's deadlines are met.
- Monitors all Back orders and communicates status with the appropriate parties.
- Communicates with the customer promptly if there are any potential issues which could delay delivery of their order.
- Follows purchasing suggestions provided in ERP software to procure raw materials.
- Proactively reviews raw material supply and demand to determine potential shortages.
- Review open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery, and in accordance with the production schedule.
- Create & manage sales orders in Link / Oracle software to guarantee AMO manufacturing work is in process
- Collaborates with the AMO Manufacturing Manager and other production floor employees to overcome scheduling challenges, reduce costs, and to improve operations.
- Assists with the process of generating quotes for new parts.
- Maintains close communication with the customer to ensure dates, quantities, pricing are correct in the system.
- Provides regular and proactive input to GM of Manufacturing regarding potential capacity issues, resource needs.
- Identify areas where cost savings can be achieved without the sacrifice of quality
- Offer suggestions to improve processes and / or systems
