Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team. This role involves managing multiple accounts, overseeing the accuracy of bookkeeping, and ensuring compliance with tax and financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO), tax preparation, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Oversee multiple accounts and ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Bookkeeper Review: Review the work of the bookkeeper, including day-to-day bill payments and banking entries in QBO.
- Verification & Reconciliation: Verify accurate entries and perform monthly account reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports for presentation to the board.
- Tax Compliance: Review and handle tax notices promptly and accurately. Prepare accounts for tax filing and coordinate with tax professionals as needed. File W-4s, 1099s, and other required payroll or contractor documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, including tax preparation.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Work Hours:
This is a part-time in-office position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate deadlines. Potentially would transition to full time if needed.
