Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Functions

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems to ensure proper operation.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, experience with various equipment and power tools, ability to read and interpret technical documents, proficiency in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to log repairs, track parts inventory, schedule preventative maintenance tasks, and scan correct process information into systems.
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment as needed.
- Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Fabricate and modify parts as required using tools such as welders, grinders, and other equipment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and other safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Provide detailed reports to supervisors regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs.
- Work closely with other maintenance team members and operation staff to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Participate in training programs to stay current with equipment and industry developments.
- Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and listen. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, and use their hands for tasks such as fingering, handling, or feeling objects, as well as reaching with their hands and arms. Occasionally, the associate may need to lift items weighing up to 51 pounds, while any weight greater than 51 pounds will require assistance. Specific vision abilities necessary for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to stand, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Work Environment
This job is performed in a warehouse maintenance environment. This role routinely uses a variety of maintenance equipment involving electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and fabrication functions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time, Non-Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. May include overtime, weekends, and on-call hours as needed to support operations.
Travel
Local travel between locations and some travel to facilities in other states as needed.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics, fabrication, welding, electrical (3 Phase Electricity), plumbing maintenance, and carpentry functions with the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
