Multi-Site, Plant Manager
 

 

The Plant Manager is responsible for all business operations at the specific site or locations. The Plant Manager will have direct client interaction and management oversight regarding Safety, Quality, People, Compliance, and Customer Satisfaction. The plant manager will be responsible for the P&L (profit and loss). This role reports to the COO, Chief Operations Officer, overseeing two local facilities.? 
 

Essential Functions

  • Manages all aspects of the sites to provide environments that promote high-quality customer service to internal and external customers. Customer-facing responsibility for commercial discussions, client interaction for customer satisfaction, and overall relationship building with the customer.? 
  • Oversee and direct communication with the customer to address complaints and concerns, resolve problems, and escalate issues as required.? 
  • Responsible for developing and implementing all operational plans.? 
  • Responsible for ensuring that all company and customer requirements are met, including but not limited to all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), safety, productivity, new process introduction, quality, and customer service.? 
  • Responsible for the overall financial management of the two sites.? 
  • Partners with senior leadership to determine and submit the annual operating budget.? 
  • Responsible for site expenditures, including but not limited to payroll, building maintenance, and requests for capital.?? 
  • Responsible for site compliance with company policies, procedures, and associate programs, such as safety, productivity, quality, and employee relations. Ensure all levels of site management consistently enforce company policies on the managed workforce, abiding by union contracts when applicable.? 
  • Coach, develop, and empower direct reports to help drive company objectives. Train and influence leaders to improve employee engagement while instilling the company culture.? 
  • Monitor and advise management regarding operational and strategic decision-making.? 
  • Mentor and provide leadership development opportunities for managers and associates.? 
  • Ensure the site exceeds customer expectations regarding cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.?? 
  • Monitor, measure, and report the performance of direct employees. Create and administer performance reviews as prescribed by company practice.? 
  • Ensure consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the site.? 
  • Enhance and ensure safety compliance. Collaborate with safety resources to execute and maintain safety initiatives and improvements.? 
  • Deliver best-in-class operational practices and cost efficiencies across the sites while maintaining critical quality standards for customer satisfaction and profitability.? 
  • Review, modify, and implement operational activities that eliminate waste, ensure compliance to local and federal laws, and improve the overall operation of the business.? 
  • Monitor, measure, and report the performance of direct employees while completing performance reviews as prescribed by company practice.  
  • Execute coaching and feedback to maximize employee performance.? 
  • Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, occasionally required to sit or stand, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance.  

 

Work Environment 

This job is performed in a complex manufacturing environment with multiple workstations, heavy machinery and frequent forklift traffic. The facility is subject to seasonal temperature changes. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed shoes and any additional equipment as specified by company safety guidelines. The work will be divided between office and manufacturing settings. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

Full-time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required, as is on-call availability.?? 

 
Travel 

This role requires splitting time between two primary locations approximately two hours apart. Up to 50% of the travel commitment is expected to be travel between sites, including routine travel to ensure effective management and collaboration.? 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.?? 
  • 8 years of experience in a key leadership or management role in a complex manufacturing environment, leading large teams is required.?Multi-site leadership experience is preferred. Additional 3PL or Supply Chain experience preferred. ? 
  • Must have experience developing budgets and managing a P&L 
  • Ability to create and analyze comprehensive reports directly impacting business performance. ?? 
  • Previous experience with implementing best practices and using Continuous Improvement methods such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing. Six Sigma and Lean Certification preferred.? 
  • Must have strong technical skills and operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).? 
  • Working knowledge of an ERP (SAP, Great Plains, Dynamics, etc.) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).?? 
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and proven safety record.? 
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, PFMEA experience is a plus) 
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
