Job Summary
The Superintendent leads, directs, and coordinates the work of Trade Partners, Company Labor, and Joint Venture Labor. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work is performed to standard, and adherence to budget and time frame of the project. The Superintendent has supervisory responsibility for Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns and Trade Labor in their area of responsibility.
As a Superintendent in Commercial Construction, you will manage building projects and supervise the day-to-day activities involved with a particular project. You will assess the resources needed to complete a construction project and generate cost estimates to help set the project budget. You will also manage the general construction staff, delegating tasks to team members and creating the staff schedule. A Superintendent will observe all activities on a construction site and maintain a site log that explains what was accomplished and where the construction team needs to resume the next workday.
This is an on-site position in DES MOINES, IA.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- As a Superintendent you will work in a highly collaborative environment and will be responsible for:
- Onsite ownership and leadership in all aspects of the project throughout Construction, including Safety, Quality and Schedule execution.
- Execution of the Contract Requirements.
- Lead, support and execute the project’s safety, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Exemplify TW Constructors commitment to safety.
- Minimum of OSHA 30 Hour certification.
- Oversight of all on-site work forces.
- Daily scope coordination and inspection of installed work.
- Assignment of team responsibilities.
- Coordination and collaboration with the Office and Field Team to help support and execute all project goals and manage project risk.
- Project site logistics and organization of on-site activities.
- Exemplify TW Constructors Culture by Leading with Integrity and Developing Each Other through providing leadership and mentorship to all associates on the project.
- Read and understand Construction Design Documents and Specifications.
- 5 to 10 years of commercial construction experience.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Critical thinker and problem solver.
- Possess outstanding communication and time management skills.
- Respectful, trusting, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful project completion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
- Frequent activity:
- Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, and Pulling.
- Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management and accounting software.
- Proficiency in scheduling software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.
- Ability to manage budgets.
- Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources.
- Knowledge of layout skills.
- Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging.
- Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
- Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices
- Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
- Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
- In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations
- Great problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal-setting and conflict management
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking
- 3-5 Years experience in the field
