About the role
The purpose of this role is to ensure the financial and business operations of the TWE Shanghai entity are efficient and effective, while ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, relevant laws, regulations and expectations of companies operating in China. This role works across all functions and divisions of TWE to deliver these outcomes.
- Financial compliance:
- Ensure business processes and controls are ‘fit for purpose’ in the context of China corporate regulations and expectations. This applies to all financial processes and functions operating within the TWE Shanghai.
- Actively work across a broad set of stakeholders (TBS, TPB, Penfolds, supply, corporate) to ensure awareness of China requirements and adherence to process, particularly where processes are reliant on work performed outside of China (e.g. Procure to Pay).
- Actively work to evolve processes and controls as the business evolves ensuring these are reflected in standard operating procedures, key control assessments, etc..
- Routinely conduct process self checks and audits to ensure what should be getting done is getting done.
- Actively engage in Stone and Moon M&A integration, partner with supply finance and TBS finance to sort out the needs for compliance.
- Tax (to be executed in conjunction with Tax Manager)
- Execution of fapiao and red fapiao processes to ensure local practices comply with tax bureau requirements.
- Manage relationship with external fapiao provider, ensuring delivery to agreed service level performance metrics.
- Monitor transfer pricing and statutory profit margin delivery. Where necessary, work with China Sr. Tax Manager to recommend and oversee the implementation of changes to transfer pricing uplifts to ensure the right work with stakeholders to ensure the right tax outcomes for TWE Shanghai.
- Treasury (to be executed in conjunction with Treasury manager)
- Implement appropriate cash flow / liquidity monitoring and forecasting processes to ensure appropriate cash reserves for the local entity.
- Ensure local payment practices are compliant with requirements of banks and regulatory bodies (e.g. SAFE).
- Financial and statutory reporting and auditing
- Establish routine reporting that assesses TWE Shanghai’s financial performance across the China COO, CDBM and existing DI models.
- Lead the preparation and submission of local statutory reports for the China entities
- Lead annual external auditing requirement for China entities with auditors
- Other duties:
- Be the champion of TWE finance policies, controls and processes
- Drive a compliance led culture through the China business
- Ad hoc analysis and project based work as required
- Other duties from time to time
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Member of a relevant professional association, CA / CPA
- 10 years of relevant experience within China companies
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Very strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills
- Critical thinking, and ability to identify areas of weakness in processes and controls
- Effective planning and project management skills
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Solutions minded, displaying a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to lead and manage a high performing team
- Time management, prioritisation and ability to work under pressure
