TWE Nonwovens, a global company that specializes in engineered applications utilizing nonwoven thermal bonded and needle punched technologies, has an opportunity for an R&D Technician with 1 – 2 years’ experience preferred to join our team. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring a person who is proactive, creative, and has strong problem-solving skills.

U.S. Headquarters in High Point, NC, with three U.S. facilities, TWE Nonwovens offers a small company, entrepreneurial work environment with strong growth potential and competitive compensation and benefits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY :

  • Assist with the design of, manufacturing execution of, and documentation of new product trials.
  • Organize new raw material validation trial runs and testing of new and existing products.
  • Coordinate both internal and 3rd party material validation testing for new and existing products / materials to customer and OEM specifications.
  • Communicate with vendors for quotes, issue purchase orders, and manage project timelines for various activities.
  • Support R&D and Sales by cutting, labelling, packaging, and shipping samples for testing and new business opportunities.
  • Assist with the design of new products to meet customer and OEM requirements in support of accurate costing of new materials.
  • Oversee Die-Cut activities including but not limited to costing inputs, vendor communications, and physical verification and measurements of steel rule dies.
  • Develop SOP’s and tools to support and troubleshoot material, process, and quality issues during the launch of new and current products.

Requirements : POSITION FUNCTIONS :

  • The primary function is to assist R&D and Sales opportunities with new nonwovens products and new business development.
  • Facilitate material and process developments to create new products to meet customer and market needs.
  • Assist in the facilitation, documentation, and administration of trial material runs.
  • Oversee internal and 3rd party validation testing of new and existing products.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in technology field with focus on Textiles, Materials, Polymers, Chemistry, or Mechanical discipline.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to be able to work in a fast-paced adaptive work environment.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, organization, and evaluation using Excel.
  • Ability to work in hot / cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and / or sitting for duration of task.
  • Ability to transport or move up to 25lbs of material.
