Guitar & Bass Instructor (Part-Time) – Glenview, IL
Location: Twelve Tone Music School – Glenview, IL
Position Type: Part-Time (4–5 days per week, including Saturdays)
Compensation: $27–$29/hour starting pay
Start Date: As soon as available

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Primarily teaching small group guitar classes as well as private guitar and bass lessons to students ranging from beginner to intermediate/advanced.
- Inspiring students through engaging, structured, and age-appropriate lessons.
- Following and contributing to our modern music curriculum.
- Preparing students for recitals, performances, and school events.
- Using in-classroom tech and digital tools (we’ll train you!) to enhance the learning experience.
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicating regularly with students, parents, and admin.
- Maintaining a consistent teaching schedule and participating in school events.
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong foundation in guitar and electric bass, with the ability to teach students of all skill levels.
- Ability to read standard notation and tablature; knowledge of multiple styles (rock, pop, blues, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience working with kids ages 6–14 in a private lesson or group class setting.
- A fun, approachable, and professional teaching presence.
- Willingness to learn and use classroom technology and our in-house LMS.
- Team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to teach and manage a class of up to 4 students at once.
- Music arranging skills a plus.
- Being able to teach beginner ukulele a plus.
- Past experience with teaching rock band classes a plus.
- Availability to work 4–5 consistent days a week, including Saturdays.
- Must pass a background check.
