This position is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management to provide support in functional areas of the human resources department, which may include but is not limited to: recruitment, employment, personnel records, benefits administration, training, employee and/or labor relations. In addition, this position is responsible for delivering our Five Star Experience to Guests and fellow Team Members. This includes being committed to our Service Promise: We are the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians Team, where your experience is our top priority. Every person and detail matters.

- Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
- Deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards. This entails consistently performing our service expectations of: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized and Valued.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Aids with Human Resources Coordinator duties when needed.
- Coordinate internal job postings program and write job postings.
- Assist Recruiting with tracking applicants on tracker and screen all applications for employment.
- Coordinate the processing of applicants approved for hire and of team members transferring to another position with the clinic and the Background Investigations Department.
- Assist with onboarding process and information including but not limited to personal data, orientation forms, PAN forms, benefits forms, work authorizations (I-9), tax data (W-4’s), etc.
- Maintain and update job descriptions.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment.
- Maintain bulletin boards and keep them organized and up to date with the most current information.
- Compose and submit correspondence for approval.
- Establish, update and maintain manual and computer filing systems to track information.
- Enter information into a computerized tracking system in order to originate, update, reconcile, transfer and/or track data.
- Gather and summarize data for reports and correspondence from computerized tracking system and manual files in order to provide accurate information.
- Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of team member grievances and coordinate responses to grievant.
- Interview and/or survey team members to gather information relating to morale, motivation and efficiency and report results to management and recommend possible actions to be undertaken.
- Enroll new employees in benefit plans and provide benefits orientation. Manage eligibility, status changes and termination of benefits.
- Assist with conducting New Hire Orientation and Training.
- Process billing for Drug Screens and Pre-employment physicals.
- Assist with verifications of employment.
- Maintain compliance with federal regulations concerning employment.
- Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
- Must present a positive image of the Casino to its guests and vendors and assist them as required.
- Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
This job does not require supervisory duties.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MUST BE DOCUMENTED):
- High School Diploma (or GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Two (2) to four (4) years related experience preferred.
- Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) credential preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must pass periodic random drug screens.
- Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
- Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
- Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.

- Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all hours.
- Must be available for emergency calls 24/7.
- Must be available to work weekend and holidays.
- Some enterprises are gaming facilities.
- Some enterprises are not a smoke-free environment.
- Surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises recording activity throughout most of the facilities on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis.
