A leading Financial Services firm is seeking an experienced Private Equity and Real Estate expert to join its team. This role plays a key part in overseeing fund administration, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and leading a team of accounting professionals.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will take ownership of client deliverables, manage a team, and ensure compliance with fund structures and regulatory requirements.
We need someone with a solid understanding of accounting within Private Equity funds. Exposure to calculating NAV and experience managing a team are essential in this role, and we need someone who has experience servicing GPs and LPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of fund accountants, providing training and professional growth opportunities.
- Oversee the administration of private equity and real estate funds, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
- Review and interpret fund documentation to ensure compliance with reporting and accounting obligations.
- Perform and review Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations in line with fund requirements.
- Oversee waterfall calculations, capital calls, and distributions, working closely with investor services teams.
- Prepare and review annual financial statements, supporting audit processes and liaising with external auditors.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, investors, and internal teams.
- Ensure all internal and external reporting deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Requirements
Experience:
- At least eight years of industry experience, with a deep understanding of private equity and real estate fund accounting.
- Minimum four years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including knowledge of relevant reporting standards.
- Ability to critically assess work, ensuring high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and industry-standard accounting platforms (such as eFront, InvestTran, or similar).
Education & Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- A recognised accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential.
