TwentyThree North is partnering with a PE-backed leader in the services industry to identify its next Controller. This role presents an opportunity to lead a high-performing accounting team and drive transformative change within a rapidly expanding organization. As a key partner to senior leadership, this individual will play a pivotal role in shaping acquisition accounting strategies nationwide.
- Lead and manage a team of controllers and accounting managers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Oversee the financial integration of newly acquired companies, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate reporting.
- Manage regional accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, and month-end close processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, audit-ready, and automated where possible, maintaining strong internal controls to protect company assets.
- Develop and implement standardized accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist in annual budgeting and long-term financial planning, providing insights into financial performance and areas for improvement.
- Lead and participate in special projects aimed at enhancing financial reporting and optimizing accounting operations.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth and open communication.
- At least 10 years of accounting experience, including experience in both public and private accounting.
- Active CPA license with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and acquisition accounting principles.
- Proven leadership experience in managing accounting teams, particularly in a decentralized structure.
- Extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, including financial integration of newly acquired businesses.
- Experience managing accounting functions across multiple locations, including financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting ERP systems, with Sage Intacct experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights to leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to various stakeholders.
