Company Overview: Twice Sheared Sheep is a dynamic and growing knitting supplies brand dedicated to providing high-quality knitting tools that help knitters save brain power, stress less, and knit more. We are expanding our operations to include an in-house woodshop to produce our unique line of knitting tools and accessories. We value collaboration, creativity, and a passion for empowering others.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Woodshop Manager to lead our new woodshop team. This full-time role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met, supervising a small team, and contributing hands-on to manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking, experience with CNC machines and laser cutters, and a passion for leadership and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the woodshop to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
• Production Management: Ensure manufacturing deadlines are met, maintaining an inventory of 2,000–3,000 pieces per week.
• Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of 2–4 members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Material Planning and Procurement: Plan and procure materials needed for production, coordinating with the purchasing department for large-scale acquisitions.
• Equipment Management: Assist in selecting new equipment, plan the shop layout for optimal performance, and ensure proper maintenance and safety protocols are followed.
• Hands-On Production: Participate in manufacturing processes alongside the team, setting the standard for quality and efficiency.
• Recruitment Support: Assist in hiring and training new team members as the department grows.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of new products.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Several years of woodworking experience, including familiarity with CNC machines, laser cutters, and associated software.
• Leadership Skills: Prior management experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong leadership abilities and technical expertise will be considered.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of woodworking equipment, safety protocols, and batch production processes.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze workflows and implement improvements for efficiency and quality.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and lead a diverse team.
• Adaptability: Willingness to take on various tasks and assist where needed in a dynamic work environment.
• Passion: A genuine interest in woodworking and a commitment to empowering team members.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Benefits: After a 3-month probationary period, we offer Paid Time Off (PTO) and healthcare benefits, covering 100% of premiums for employees and 50% for dependents.
