Job Description
Our client is looking for a hands-on, safety-focused Director of Engineering to add to their team in the US. This is an onsite position with relocation assistance available for out-of-state applicants. Acting as the voice of engineering, you will set the pace of the department from resource allocation to overseeing project deliverables and leading R&D efforts. You will evaluate current processes to ensure a safe environment. Ultimately, you’ll leverage your desire for innovation with a continuous improvement mentality that allows for seamless integration into production processes. A background in explosives engineering is a must to be considered for this role. You will benefit from a 9 / 80 work schedule (off every other Friday) along with more opportunities for new product development. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the engineering department (19)
- Evaluate and monitor engineering standards and guidelines
- Review blueprints, customer specifications, and requirements
- Oversee R&D efforts for new products and projects
- Drive initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Ensure projects meet top-quality standards
- Drive change within the facility
- Implement and enforce safety protocols
- Manage resource allocation and ensure projects are progressing within goals
- Communicate and meet with stakeholders to review program status
- Monitor and control department budget
- Travel occasionally (less than 10%) for customer and vendor visits
