Job Summary:
Program Supervisors collaborate in partnership and under the guidance of Clinical Supervisors or Lead BCBAs, engaging in the direct implementation of treatment plans, overseeing program progression, troubleshooting issues, and communicating challenges to their supervisor. They also enact necessary program adjustments as instructed by their supervisor. Additionally, Program Supervisors are responsible for providing oversight and training to all levels of Behavior Technicians in executing components of treatment plans.
Essential Functions:
- Assists Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA with baseline and ongoing assessments of new clients using appropriate assessment protocols and procedures, probing skills listed on adaptive, developmental and functional behavior assessments via direct observation and data collection.
- In conjunction with Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA and caregivers, implements programs to address socially significant needs of the client ensuring that therapy is conducted so that motivation of the client is used to establish and maintain cooperation, promote self-advocacy, autonomy and engagement.
- Ensures that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured. Works with Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA to implement programming to promote communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal.
- Creates, prepares and organizes instructional materials.
- Works directly with the client, implementing new protocols, reviewing data on treatment targets/short-term goals, modifying existing protocols, progressing targets, and probing new skills or targets as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA.
- Uses clinical observation and reviewing of programs at least weekly to ensure effective and efficient data-based decision making.
- Collaborates with family to implement programming and provides support to achieve prioritized family goals during Family Treatment Guidance sessions.
- Meets with each family at least two times monthly for Family Treatment Guidance sessions.
- Communicates effectively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals as instructed concerning behavioral and therapeutic programming to ensure ongoing collaboration.
- Follows and abides by the BACB Ethics Code, Twin Cities Autism Center ethical guidelines and policies, regulations, and laws and adheres to mandated reporting regulations.
- Responsible for responding to all communications from supervisors within 24-hour period or by next business day worked.
- Provide ongoing observation and direction to Lead Behavior Technicians, Advanced Behavior Technicians, Behavior Technicians, and Entry Level Behavior Technicians both during the onboarding process and beyond.
- Participate and lead Group Supervision sessions.
- Engage in progress monitoring of client programming under direction of the Clinical Supervisor or Lead BCBA.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Cover 1:1 client sessions when other Behavior Technicians are unavailable.
Non-Essential Functions/Other Duties:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: Advanced Behavior Technicians are not responsible for the ongoing supervision and direction of other Behavior Technicians. However, an Advanced Behavior Technician may train an Entry Level Behavior Technician and/or a Behavior Technician during the onboarding process or onboarding to a new client.
Travel Required: Daily travel to client homes, clinic, or other therapy or meeting locations with the use of personal vehicle may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) lbs.
- Required to stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, hear, type, and write.
- Ability to engage in physical activities with clients, including play and exercise.
- Employees may be exposed to a client who exhibits physically aggressive behavior which can include kicking, pinching, punching, biting, etc. The employee may have to use appropriate behavior management techniques frequently with a client under such circumstances. Such response requires agility, quick reflexes, and the ability to use physically evasive movement.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, far, and field of vision.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding by others.
- This position requires regular and punctual employee presence.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in psychology, education, or related field required.
- Masters degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- At minimum, two thousand hours of supervised, direct treatment in implementing behaviorally based therapy consistent with best practices and research on the effectiveness for a variety of children with autism spectrum disorders.
- Previous experience working with children.
- A solid understanding of autism and behavioral principles.
- Experience utilizing applied behavior analytic strategies to modify behavior.
- BCaBA credential preferred but not required.

- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations. Maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families.
- Completion of 40-hour RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) training or enrollment in the training is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully adapt and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills to include conflict resolution, coaching, and training.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
Other:
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Must pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for MN EIDBI Level 1 or Level 2 Provider.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
