Overview: Twin Cities Development Association, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Grant/Lending Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing two crucial loan funds and managing grant-related activities for Twin Cities Development and its members. Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Rural Workforce Housing Revolving Loan Fund:
- Administer short-term, low-interest loans for housing rehabilitation or new construction projects.
- Evaluate loan applications, conduct financial analysis, and make lending decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to borrowers throughout the loan process.
- Ensure compliance with fund guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor loan performance and collect repayments in a timely manner.
2. Oversee the USDA Small Business Revolving Loan Fund:
- Facilitate the disbursement of loans to small businesses with fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross profit.
- Assess loan applications, review financials, and determine eligibility.
- Offer technical assistance to loan applicants and recipients as needed.
- Monitor loan utilization and assist with repayment management.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for fund reporting.
3. In-House Grant Writing and Administration:
- Research grant opportunities and develop grant proposals for Twin Cities Development initiatives.
- Manage the grant application process from inception to submission.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare grant reports and monitor grant expenditures.
4. Fee-Based Grant Writing for Twin Cities Development Members:
- Offer grant writing services to Twin Cities Development members on a fee-based schedule.
- Collaborate with members to identify funding opportunities aligned with their needs.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals tailored to each member's objectives.
- Assist members in meeting grant compliance and reporting obligations.
5. Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:
- Stay informed about federal, state, and private funding sources relevant to community development, housing, and small business growth.
- Proactively seek out new grant and loan programs that align with Twin Cities Development's mission and goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
6. Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other team members to align grant and lending activities with organizational priorities.
- Provide regular updates and reports on grant and loan program performance.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Urban Planning.
- Prior experience in grant writing, lending, or community development preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial statements and business plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
