What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technologist position at Twin Cities Orthopedics?
The Surgical Technologist provides technical expertise and patient care assistance to support the delivery of optimum quality care to patients in the Operating Room (OR). This is a part-time position working either 8 or 10 hours shifts M-F. No weekend, holiday, or on-call work required. This role will be based out of our Blaine Orthopedic Surgery Center.
Role Description:
This role requires an individual who can provide exceptional patient care and technical support during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining asepsis throughout the intraoperative process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with obtaining equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures
- Prepares sterile instrument tables, checking instruments and supplies for cleanliness and proper function
- Ensures all needed instruments and supplies are available prior to incision
- Creates and maintains aseptic surgical environments throughout the intraoperative process
- Assists surgeons and other team members with all phases of the surgical procedure
- Applies knowledge of surgical procedures to anticipate needs of surgeon(s) throughout the intraoperative phase
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program preferred
- Surgical Technologist Certification through governing body preferred
- One year of Operating Room experience in the last 3 years preferred
- Current member of the A.S.T. preferred
- Current BLS certification or completed upon hire
