Job Summary:
The Clinical Support Manager will play a vital role in overseeing the Clinical Support Team of Medical Assistants and Medical Scribes. The Clinical Support Manager will report to and partner closely with the Clinical Support Nurse Manager. This role must be proficient in these areas/tasks (training provided). Such tasks include:
Medical Assistant:
- Rooms and prepares patients for the healthcare visit: verifies patient information, updates medical history, updates medication/allergy list, takes vital signs, etc.
- Collects lab work.
- Maintains and stocks exam rooms.
Medical Scribe:
- Primarily responsible for the operation of electronic health record.
- Performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to assist the medical providers.
- Accompanies provider into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and accurately document the provider’s encounter with the patient.
- Accurately records all clinical data, lab or other test results, and the interpretation of the results by the provider.
- Generates and submits orders as directed by the provider.
- Places lab orders, collects, and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Accurately document surgeries and procedures at the direction of the physician. Support nursing staff in surgery centers, ensuring that all patient charts and orders are accurate. Work with medical coding to ensure all procedures are documented and billed appropriately.
Cross-trains and works other areas of the clinic to support departments and staff as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
The Clinical Support Manager is the direct supervisor of the Medical Assistants and Medical Scribes. Duties specifically assigned to this role include:
- Supervision and Training: Oversee, mentor, and provide ongoing training for medical assistants and medical scribes to ensure effective performance of core duties.
- Performance Management: Monitor staff performance, deliver timely feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations to support professional growth and maintain high standards.
- Team Meetings: Organize and lead regular team meetings to discuss updates, address concerns, and foster team communication.
- Recruitment and Hiring: Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and select candidates for medical assistant and medical scribe positions, ensuring a good fit for the team and organizational needs.
- Scheduling: Manage shift scheduling, handle time-off requests, and arrange shift coverage for unexpected absences, including sick calls.
- Protocol Updates: Stay informed about the latest protocols and guidelines, develop new protocols as necessary, and ensure all staff are updated and trained on these changes.
- Leadership: Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and recognition to motivate and guide staff. Demonstrate strong leadership skills by fostering a positive work environment and addressing issues promptly.
- Travel: Travel to other clinic sites on a weekly basis and as needed to ensure consistent management and support across locations.
Qualifications:
- Required: 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting providing patient care, in any capacity/role.
- Required: Previous leadership/supervisory experience.
- Preferred: Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Minnesota.

Compensation & Work Schedule:
- Full-time: 40 hours/week.
- Exempt.
- Day Shift: Monday – Friday.
- No evenings or weekends.

Salary : $60,320 - $66,560
