Job Status: Casual, ideally two to three days a week (Monday-Thursday, days will vary). Partial shifts are not available. Clinic hours vary between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm
Location: Minneapolis with rotation to remote clinics as business dictates.
Job Summary:

The Clinic Assistant works to support physicians, physician assistants, and nurse clinicians with patient care and clinical activities, ensuring the flow of the clinic runs smoothly. They assist patients and visitors, answer general questions, discharge patients with the appropriate information and documentation, and send medical orders to outside facilities. Professionalism, exceptional customer service skills, superior work attendance, and a desire to provide high-quality patient care are expected in this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Room Patients
- Take vitals and patient measurements
- Enter orders per provider direction
- Assist physician in patient rooms as needed
- Accurate Electronic Medical Record entry
- Navigate through computer generated imaging
- Monitor the clinic schedule, facilitate clinic flow
- Work with outside imaging facilities for timely transmission of images and reports
- Facilitate the direction of the physician, physician assistant, nurse, and/or fellow in clinic
- Discharge the patient from the clinic with the appropriate information and documentation
- Work closely with registration, radiology, and medical records staff throughout the clinic day
- Travel to remote clinics as business needs dictate, including rotations at TC Spine’s outreach clinics
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements and Competencies:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant experience preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Medical terminology background; preferably orthopedic
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to adapt to different working styles
- Skilled at organizing and prioritizing workload and following assignments through to completion
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time arrival to work as scheduled
- Ability to work with patients of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds
