We are part of a global aerospace group targeting rapid expansion. Currently looking for a few key leaders that can join our team and increase our velocity toward our global growth goals.
Location: NW of Minneapolis – 85% on-site requirement
Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Job Description:
As the Quality Manager at Twin City Metal Works, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to delivering high-quality aerospace components and systems. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the quality management system in accordance with AS9100 standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System Oversight:
- Manage and maintain the AS9100 quality management system.
- Develop and implement quality procedures, policies, and objectives to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as necessary to address non-conformances and improve processes.
- Quality Control in Precision Machining:
- Establish and maintain robust quality control processes specifically tailored to precision machining operations.
- Develop inspection procedures and standards for precision components, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and specifications.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Champion quality improvement projects to enhance product quality and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Customer Focus:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality inquiries and issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Department Leadership
- Maintain and build a team of technicians and engineers in support of the production demands of the customer
- Plan inspection department activity and measure productivity
- Maintain a set of key metrics for the overall organization – Cost-of-Poor-Quality, On-Time Delivery, Quality to the Customer, DPPM, etc…
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the aerospace manufacturing industry in an AS9100 environment.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant quality standards (ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.).
- Proven experience in leading quality audits, managing CAPA processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience specifically in precision machining quality control, including familiarity with CNC machining, metrology tools, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Customer facing experience solving complex, technical issues. Ensuring customer satisfaction at every interaction.
