Twin City Underwriters is a small independent insurance brokerage that is dedicated to helping individuals make informed decisions regarding their Medicare, Life Insurance, Annuities, and other Health Insurance needs. We are looking for an empathetic, team-focused Internal Sales Agent to join our team. The role is fully in-office and involves working with walk-in customers, established appointments via phone or web platform,and in-person meetings (no cold calling). The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, an excellent listener, and able to function independently with minimal supervision.
This is not a typical sales role, there are no commissions involved or sales quotas, allowing us to focus solely on what’s best for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build instant rapport with clients and guide them in selecting the most suitable insurance plans.
- Clearly communicate complex healthcare information in a concise and understandable manner.
- Efficiently manage schedules and maintain detailed records to ensure appointments are completed within the allotted time.
- Work collaboratively with peers to ensure excellent customer service and sales success.
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Obtain a Minnesota Life and Health Insurance license (or currently licensed).
- Ability to contract with all carriers we service.
- Pass AHIP and all carrier certifications (initially and annually).
- Ability to commit to some evening and weekend hours, primarily from October 1 - December 7.
- Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Strict adherence to all CMS regulations.
Nice to have (but not required):
- Current Life and Health Insurance license for MN
- Current AHIP certification
- Experience working with Medicare Advantage and/or Medicare Supplements
- Previous experience in customer service or sales
Training & Onboarding:
The first 2-4 months will focus on onboarding, training, and licensing. We cover the cost of obtaining your insurance license and provide full support to help you pass all required certifications.
You will need to be able to commit to some evening and weekend hours, especially from October 1 - December 7. The typical hours of operation are 8:30am - 5pm with a 30-minute lunch.
