Twin Resources is currently recruiting for the following for our customer in Dayton, Ohio. This is a first shift position.
Manual & CNC Machinist
Job Summary:
Operate, set up, and monitor manual and CNC machines, including vertical mills, vertical turret lathes, and horizontal lathes. Ensure quality and safety standards are met while maintaining accurate records and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and operational instructions.
- Produce and inspect parts to meet specified quality standards within the allotted time.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify accuracy.
- Perform initial product quality checks and complete all necessary processing operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders and in-process inspection sheets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming errors.
- Operate machinery continuously throughout the shift, except for scheduled breaks.
- Lift, turn, and load/unload objects with or without assistance.
- Follow all safety protocols and demonstrate safe work habits.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Stay up to date with job-specific training and company requirements.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements & PPE:
- Safety glasses with side shields
- Steel-toed/metatarsal safety shoes
- Gloves, earplugs, and face shields as required
- Welding hood, jacket, and FR clothing when necessary
- N-95 mask or respirator as required
- Seat belts for forklift operation
Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of machining techniques and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in CNC milling (conversational and G&M code)
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of machining experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.71 - $20.78 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
