Position Summary
We’re seeking a professional and detail-oriented Engineering Manager for our customer to lead both Engineering and Maintenance operations at our Urbana plant. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensure high levels of accuracy and productivity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll oversee engineering efforts for new and existing product trials, optimize line performance, and ensure maximum production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering within the coating industry, a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance, and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Engineering Department to support product testing, production trials, and line parameter optimization.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure production lines run within specification and deliver quality results.
- Assign and supervise tasks for Engineering staff and System Operators; ensure timely and accurate task completion.
- Review and verify engineering-related documentation and daily shift forms; summarize data for internal communication.
- Collaborate with internal departments and corporate teams to meet performance and quality objectives.
- Prepare and manage the annual budgets for both Engineering and Maintenance Departments.
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance projects and equipment upgrades.
- Supervise preventative maintenance activities and support engineering staff in resolving equipment issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the coating industry.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance record.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude to assist with troubleshooting and equipment repair.
- Proven ability to delegate, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all environmental and workplace policies.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with vendors and customers.
- Flexibility to work off-hours and travel when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
