Behavior Intervention Specialist - 7 hrs/day (ECE/PC#250004)
Position Summary: Assists teachers, therapists, and counselors with administration of one-on-one behavioral intervention therapies and tutoring to students in a school, home, or other setting. Provides support to special diagnostic services and instructional programs that are designed to enhance students’ ability to be placed in regular grade level education.

Salary: $26.62 - $35.17 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience (new hire maximum of step 5).
Location: ECE Central Office
Hours: 7 hours/day; 5 days/week
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance available for employees who work 4 hours per day (Full district contribution for 6 hours/day; 50% contribution for 4-5.99 hours/day).
Education and Experience: The position requires an Associate’s degree in early childhood development, psychology, speech pathology or equivalent discipline plus two years of experience working with in a classroom environment containing students with special needs. Alternatively, may require Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working with handicapped and behaviorally “at-risk” students.
Licenses and Certifications: May require a valid driver’s license. Completion of intervention modules such as applied behavior analysis, discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, and social stories. May require a valid first aid card.
