Position: Assistant Farm Manager
Twin View Farms is a family owned, modern and progressive dairy farm that produces raw milk. The milk is sold to multiple processors that currently use it to make chocolate milk and mozzarella cheese for pizza, as well as other products. We strive to produce the cleanest and healthiest milk possible. Doing this starts with putting the cows first because the healthiest cows are the most productive cows.
As Assistant Farm Manager you will work as part of a team that manages the farming, harvesting, equipment maintenance and feeding operations of the dairy. In the summer, your primary role will be on the farming operation. In the winter, your primary role will be to support the dairy operation. That mostly includes manure removal, equipment maintenance and bedding of cows. Work expectations will be 55 hours per week. If you excel at this position there is upward mobility within our company.
Pay and Benefits
- Average hourly pay of $23 - $32/hour (or 65-91k/year) based on experience and qualifications
- 2 weeks paid vacation
What you will be doing:
- All farm ground operations including discing, cultivating, planting, etc.
- Maintaining ground through mowing, spraying, etc.
- Irrigation of farm ground through pivots
- Harvesting of crops for silage through chopping, trucking and packing
- Maintenance of tractors, implements, trucks, loaders, backhoe, etc
- Coordinating farm employees when Farm Manager is unavailable
- Supporting the dairy in the winter with equipment maintenance and manure removal
- Assisting Farm Manager in all farm management decisions
Qualifications, attributes and Skills you bring:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Driven, teachable and accountable
- Know or be willing to learn basic Spanish
- Grew up on a farm or have previous agriculture experience
- Hard working and willing to be on call at night
