Transportation Assistant
Twinbrook Healthare & Rehabilitation Center is a premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation center dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents. We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Transportation Assistant to join our team. Our desired Transportation Assistant will be responsible, punctual, and dedicated to providing high-quality transportation services to our residents, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
Transportation Assistant Required Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Valid, unencumbered state issued driver's license
Transportation Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provides timely transportation services to residents as scheduled or as needed for appointments or events
- Assists resident with transfer activities during the transport in accordance with care plans and established policies and procedures
- Assists resident with onboarding and offboarding from vehicle including use of medical lifts, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting into and out of the vehicle and into suitable wheelchair when applicable
- Safeguards resident medical paperwork as needed during medical transports and provides paperwork to receiving provider
- Accepts directions from the Director of Nursing, Social Services Director, or designee to coordinate transport schedule
- Delivers paperwork subsequent to transport related to state Medicaid voucher transport reimbursement where applicable
- Maintains all paperwork such as documenting resident presence on the transport roster during onboarding and offboarding, mileage logs, etc.
- Reseaches and plans for traffice delays, weather delays, etc.
- Ensures facility vehicle is properly maintained, fueled, clean, and services suitable to resident use
- Completes daily documentation as assigned
- Keeps supervisor informed of factors that interfere with being able to perform the work as assigned (i.e. resident issues, vehicle issues)
- Reports any untoward even immediately to supervisor
- Performs CNA duties in facility when not providing transportation for residents during scheduled working hours
