7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday (preferably)

DESCRIPTION:                 

Summer Help – Maintenance and Grounds: Will assist in providing general maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, grounds, and equipment, under the direct supervision of the Property Services Manager.  The Season Help will be given daily tasks assisting the following trades: Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Grounds, and Building Mechanics.  Assignments may change frequently depending on the needs of the Facilities Department.  Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with grounds crew (use of lawn mower, weed wacker, leaf blower, and other related grounds equipment).
• Assist with moving and set up of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Assist with interior or exterior painting.
• Assist with routine preventative maintenance of structures, equipment, plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Learn proper use of hand tools, power tools, and grounds equipment.
• Assist administrative and clerical staff with light office duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:             

• Must be able to follow written and verbal direction.
• Have an excellent service attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must work as a team member.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Have the ability to work on ladders and scaffolding.
• Have routine exposure to hot/cold conditions.
• Possess effective interpersonal skills (written and oral) with the ability to interface professionally with teachers, administrators, support staff, and outside professional contacts.

REQUIRED PAPERWORK: In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork. Background employment clearances must be completed within the last year to be valid and include:

Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician’s health form and recently completed TB test.
