The position is responsible for opening and closing the pro-shop, processing all guest purchases, registering golfers for their tee times, handling guest inquiries, booking tee times and lessons, and working with the other staff members to ensure an efficient player registration process and golf operations. Duties & Responsibilities: Opens and closes the pro-shop while adhering to the opening/closing checklist to ensure that all tasks are completedGreets guests/golfers as they arrive in the clubhouse, checks them in and take paymentProcesses all pro-shop sales following pre-established money handling proceduresAccurately books tee times and lessons over the phone; handles all guest inquiresWorks closely with rangers and starters to help ensure an efficient player registration process and proper pace of playCommunicates effectively with teaching and professional staff to ensure prompt service to guests requiring technical assistance or lessonsMaintains a strong knowledge of pro-shop merchandise and assists with inventory, restocking and designing golf displaysRequires in-person attendanceRoutinely inspects all guest areas to ensure that each area is clean and organizedOccasionally fills temporary roles in other departments as business needs dictate QualificationsMust have excellent guest service skillsSome knowledge of golf is preferredAbility to keep accurate recordsAbility to work well, and communicate effectively, within a team environmentAbility to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to five hours in lengthMust have ability to move and/or lift up to fifty pounds in weightWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
