Job Title: MicroStrategy Developer
Location: 600 N. Hurstbourne Parkway, Suite 400, Louisville, KY 40222
Job Description: Support the online horse wagering business. Gather, model, and load data into the data warehouse. Create reports and reporting interfaces. Conduct analysis to assess performance and recommend changes. Support ongoing operational decisions. Architect and create MicroStrategy reports to analyze customer data and business operations with the end goal of identifying trends, segments, and opportunities and create actionable insights to increase engagement and revenue across the business. Transform high-level specifications into usable ongoing MicroStrategy reports and dossiers used by the finance, marketing, operations, and executive teams to support business management. Maintain and keep an up-to-date report library to ensure underlying data changes don’t impact report information. Design and execute application objects and schema objects using MicroStrategy Desktop. Utilize knowledge of SQL queries to write, read, and debug code. Support and drive the underlying MicroStrategy architecture. Work with end users on the development of their reports. Encourage a self-service model. Conduct validation and testing of reports, dashboards, and analytics to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across the organization. Support ongoing reporting processes. Work to model, extract, and load data into our data warehouse.
Education Requirement: Master’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or electrical engineering.
Experience Requirement: 2 years of experience as MicroStrategy Developer or Software Developer.
Special Skills: Must have work experience in each of the following: (1) designing and developing enterprise-level BI solutions using MicroStrategy tools and technologies, data modeling and warehousing concepts, and SQL programming; (2) collaborating with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize KPIs and metrics, including maintaining data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise, and providing As-a-Service offerings such as targeted marketing campaigns; (3) optimizing SQL queries and database structures for performance and scalability, including identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, optimizing database indexes, and tuning SQL queries using project management tools including JIRA, BOX, and Confluence; and (4) maintaining the integrity and consistency of MicroStrategy metadata in multiple projects and environments using Integrity Manager, Object Manager, and Enterprise Manager.
