Drone Pilot Applicator – Position Overview
This role involves operating agricultural spraying drones to apply herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers with precision. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate application, maintaining equipment, and following all FAA and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) regulations regarding aerial applications. This is at times a fast-paced environment, with safety and accuracy a top priority. Ability to problem solve with situations and equipment quickly and efficiently is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate agricultural spraying drones to apply crop protection products efficiently.
Follow detailed spray plans while adhering to FAA and TDA regulations.
Properly mix, handle, and apply agricultural chemicals.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drone equipment.
Transport drones, chemicals, and related equipment to job sites (trailer experience preferred).
Communicate with customers professionally and provide quality service.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to seasonal demands.
Qualifications & Requirements:
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Understanding of Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) regulations for chemical applications.
Experience with drone operations (agriculture or spraying experience preferred).
Trailer experience preferred for transporting equipment safely.
Able to work some nights and weekends, as this field is weather driven.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain equipment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay is based on experience and performance, with bonuses offered throughout the season.
Hands-on training with advanced drone spraying technology.
Transportation to jobs is provided from home base.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
